Towards the Opening of the Women Empowerment Hub in Sakeb, Jerash

In harmony with the Jerash Community Leadership and Sustainability Campaign carried out in 2018, CSR Al Ahli Group is establishing a gender sensitive “Women Empowerment Hub” in Sakeb, a village in the Jerash Governorate. The purpose of the center is to provide access to quality information, integrated activities and a safe working space for women to build practical skills and knowledge, as well as to provide networking and interaction opportunities. Additionally the forum will be used to promote the production of local products such as olives, honey, dairy products, herbs and many more.

Officially opening on the 19th of January 2020 under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Talal. The Women Empowerment Hub will have an intense schedule of workshops, training sessions and seminars for the year ahead. In addition to this, the installation of a well-equipped kitchen and a multi-purpose room in the Hub, will allow beneficiaries to work on food production and various sorts of manufacturing in a safe and healthy environment. For 2020 we will sign a series of agreements with several local and international organizations to fulfill a total of 15 missions to benefit the women of Sakeb.

Beside the important impact that this forum will have in the Sakeb community, thanks to the stunning set-up, it will be able to become one of the main touristic hubs in the area having a small cafe and a permanent bazaar where visitors can try and buy local products. In addition to all of this, the Women Empowerment Hub will also serve as a facility and a venue for events or training sessions organized by other local NGOs.

CSR Al Ahli in the Republic of San Marino

Both parties expressed their interest in making this program a success in order to support young and motivated social entrepreneurs in developing innovative global solutions for local development challenges.

We would like to thank Ms. Daniela Giannoni for making all this happen and for being an extremely valuable partner in designing and implementing a program that aims to support young entrepreneurs from the Middle East and the Republic of San Marino. This program aims to enhance international cooperation and intercultural interactions as well as mobilize resources and investments in start-ups residing in both San Marino and the Middle East.
